This piece was created for a couple who celebrated their vows in a Fine Art Museum. The bride's mint condition 1957 Bel Air Chevy served as both a great photo opportunity and the couple's getaway car. Beyond the practical, the Chevy served as the visual inspiration for their day.
This Kelly Kiefer original incorporates the textures of the luxurious brown satin and gold accent used throughout the event; elements from the unique antique birdcage centerpieces; the event's flowers: hydrangea, calla lilies, roses, and tulips; and the Chevrolet Vee from a '57 Bel Air Chevy. A hint of the steering wheel and gauges can be seen in the background adding intrigue, dimension and whimsy. To showcase these items and to mirror the dark wooden backdrop of the event, Kelly Kiefer created a highly-custom walnut box.
As she often does, Kelly Kiefer highlighted the guests of honor as the true inspiration for the piece. At the center of the display is one of the couple's favorite wedding photographs showing bride's vintage dress floating in the wind.
